Steak and potatoes go hand in hand like the two most tastiest buddies one can have for dinner. It’s easy to make, takes little time from start to finish and everyone eating it is going to love mealtime!

Let’s take a look at this classic Steak With Potato Mash recipe…

Potato Mash

  • 1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • ½ cup Whole Milk
  • 2 Scallions, thinly sliced
  • To taste Kosher Salt and Black Pepper

Steak

  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1½ pound Sirloin Steak (1 inch thick)
  • To Taste Kosher Salt and Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Place potatoes in cold water and bring to a boil
  2. Add two teaspoons of salt, lower to a simmer, cover the pot and continue boiling for 10-15 minutes
  3. Drain the potatoes, return to pot, mash with milk, butter, scallions, pepper and more salt, if required
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and season the steak with salt and pepper
  5. Cook the steak to desired doneness (4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare). Let it rest, covered in foil, before slicing. Serve with the mash.
